Nisha Ray-Chaudhuri, DBA

Exploring how teaching, industry experience and new initiatives can support the priorities Nisha is shaping.

Current Context

Nisha’s vision helps connect these six areas of exploration while giving each room to develop on its own terms: two teaching opportunities, an internship contribution, an Executive in Residence role, a possible Center of Excellence, and a speaker series. Nisha, Eric and Sam share a vision for a speaker series that brings faculty, students and industry voices into conversation. Its purpose and format are open to development together. The Question is one possible approach I’m proposing in response to that interest, with possibilities for programming, learning and a broader media enterprise.

Together, Nisha and Eric are exploring how the Center could support and benefit the School of Communications and other schools and departments across Webster, with participating faculty and academic leaders helping shape the work.

Starting Point

How could my teaching and operating experience contribute to the priorities Nisha is shaping across the department and the broader initiatives taking form?

My current understanding is that Nisha is leading these conversations and helping shape a broader set of initiatives. This thread starts with her departmental leadership and the priorities she sees, with Eric and Sam connected to the wider direction. Teaching, internships, an Executive in Residence role, a possible Center of Excellence and a speaker series are related possibilities, each with its own scope to explore together.

Questions in Motion

Six distinct tracks shared with Nisha and Eric, with Nisha leading the conversation. Two teaching opportunities, an internship contribution, an Executive in Residence role, the proposed Center and a speaker series each have their own purpose, scope and next steps.

The course references come from the supplied Spring 2026 syllabus pages. They provide context for discussion; future offerings, responsibilities and appointments remain to be agreed.

02

Adjunct Teaching · BUSN-4757

Live Entertainment Management: How could my experience with venues and live events contribute to teaching planning, budgeting, booking and event delivery? What scope and preparation would make this a useful teaching contribution?

03

BUSN-4827 · Sports & Entertainment Internship

The supplied syllabus identifies an ISBI 360 internship context. How could I contribute to applied learning, industry relationships and student support? What responsibilities would sit with the instructor, the host organization and me, and how would learning be supervised and assessed?

04

Executive in Residence (EIR)

What purpose and scope could an Executive in Residence role serve alongside teaching? How might mentoring, faculty collaboration and industry engagement fit together, and what would Nisha and Eric see as a useful contribution?

05

Sports & Entertainment Management Center of Excellence

Working title. How could the vision and collaboration of Nisha and Eric shape a Center that supports the Walker School, the School of Communications and other schools and departments across Webster? What academic purpose, student value and shared priorities should guide its development?

Speaker Series

How could we develop the shared vision of Nisha, Eric and Sam for a speaker series? What purpose, guests and connection to student learning should guide it? The Question is one possible approach I’m proposing in response to that shared interest, extending the live series into recurring programming, a lasting library and a broader media enterprise.

What Comes Next

Clarify the priorities with Nisha and Eric, then capture the scope, open questions and next step for each of the six tracks. A teaching discussion, internship contribution, EIR role, proposed center and speaker series can develop at different paces.
